Night of Nights Concert

NVHS Concert Band, Jazz Band, Percussion Ensemble and a showcase of Talent perform at this fundraising concert to help send our students to New Zealand.

2008 Yamaha Band Festival - Stage Band

See the Stage Band Silver award winning performances at the Yamaha Band Festival playing the Blues and dressed to kill.

2008 Yamaha Band Festival - Concert Band

The NV's playing 3 pieces, winning a Silver Award. One of the band members dressed in traditional Japanese Kimono for the performance of Tenjin-yama. See also a critique and workshop for band members after the concert Note the workshop is currently  not available for viewing as it is pending approval from Yamaha Festival organisers to publish on the web.

2008 Showcase Auditions

The NV's audition for Showcase 2008. See the Jazz Band and Percussion Ensemble audition performance to enter 2008 Showcase. 

School Stage Opening 23rd Sep, 2008

The official opening of the stage took place on the 23rd September with the Play for Life Music Concert involving 179 students from Year 6 upwards from schools across the Central Coast who played to a full house.

  2007

School Expo 2007

See the excellent performance by band members of the many new pieces recently learnt including Tenjina-yama and Another Brick in The Wall performed at the School Expo and 2008 Parent information evening on the 4th December.

Mad Mad Music Day

See the NV's performing at the Central Coast Conservatorium of Music's Mad Mad Music day held at Narara Valley High School Many students from all over the Central Coast as part of the Conservatorium's Schools program attended and played in front of a large audience. Several new pieces were performed by the NV's at this event including flute and sax ensembles.

Yamaha Band Festival 2007

The NV's competed in the Yamaha Band festival held at Willoughby Town Hall which has the best acoustics of a hall of its kind in Sydney. They were rewarded with a Silver medal for their efforts. See the three pieces performed at the festival and the workshop held afterwards.

The NV's rehearsal at YIPA 2007

See the NV's rehearsing several pieces at Laycock Street theatre for their second year at YIPA. For the fist time clarinet, saxophone and  body percussion pieces were performed. The five pieces that can be seen were again this year filmed and mixed with several cameras.

Edogawa Youth Wing 2007

See the highlights of Edogawa Youth Wing students visit to Australia with some of the NV's ensemble and Japanese students performances at the Edogawa "Thank You dinner". Also see the Japan vs Australia soccer match. (Full story can be read by clicking here.)

Japan Tour 6th-18th Oct 2006

 See snapshots on a day by day arrangement of  the fantastic trip the NV's had to Japan including Edogawa in Tokyo, Mt Fuji, Hiroshima, Kyoto and Nara. (Full Japan Tour story can be read by clicking here.)

Komatsugawa & Narara Valley High School's performance of "Basin Street Blues"

See the NV's performing at  a  Japanese High School whilst on their tour of Japan. This piece was performed jointly with Komatsugawa High who had been practising this prior to the NV's arriving in Japan.

Komatsugawa High School's superb performance of "Pirates of the Caribbean"

Komatsugawa High showed the NV's what's possible with a large band and many hours of practise and dedication with this amazing performance.

Loading the Bullet train at Kyoto

The NV's 30 tour members had to catch numerous trains on their busy tour and loading the luggage and instruments through the single doorway in 60secs was a challenge the roadies  (adults) soon got down to a fine art.
